The research work of the Institute will be conducted by four teams dedicated to:

.Scope of research: political relations, the development and institutions of state and social relations, the status of Poles in Germany, cross-border cooperation, German public opinion and Poland's political elites, economic affairs
German Relations.
Germany - State, Society, Economy
.Scope of research: the party system and election behavior, immigration and integration policy, the labor market, economic policy, energy policy, domestic security and public opinion
Germany-Europe-the World
.Scope of research: Germany's international role and its implications, including the integration and disintegration of the EU, European and global security, relations with key partners
History and Politics
.Scope of research: historical remembrance in Poland and Germany and its functions in Polish-German relations, diaspora policy
