70th anniversary of the Institute for Western Affairs
The Institute for Western Affairs founded in 1944 is celebrating this year the 70th anniversary of its existence. The honorary patronage over our celebrations was accepted by President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski, and the Honorary Committee is chaired by MEP – prof Jerzy Buzek. The Honorary Committee includes among others Władysław Bartoszewski, Archbishop Henryk Muszynski, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Rector of AMU prof Bronisław Marciniak, EU Rector prof Marian Gorynia, the authorities of the city and the region. Many projects will be completed as part of the 70th anniversary of the Institute for Western Affairs aimed at presenting and popularizing the achievements of this important center of research. One of the projects is the exhibition presenting an interesting history and rich activities of the Institute: scientific research, popularization and publishing. The exhibition located in the Old Market Square (in front of the Guardhouse) will be opened from 4 August to 26 September 2014.
