Conference "World War II reparations: a problem for Germany today?"
In summer 2017, Poland saw a vigorous revival of the debate on German war reparations. Although the discussion on this subject had already been held in the autumn of 2004, now the intensity of the dispute which erupted after Jarosław Kaczyński’s speech on 1 July 2017 is far greater than it was thirteen years earlier.
The matter of reparations and contribiutions certainly requires in-depth discussion, which is why on February 28, a conference "World War II reparations: a problem for Germany today?" organized by the Institute For Western Affairs together with the ECR will be held in the European Parliament in Brusselss
The conference will start at 9:00 AM in room P1A002 of the PHS building of the European Parliament. On behalf of the Western Institute, the conference will feature: Dr. Justyna Schulz, economist, director of the Institute of Western Affairs, Dr. Magdalena Bainczyk, lawyer, Dr. Bogumił Rudawski, historian and professor Stanisław Żerko, historian.
