"The Hybridity of Terrorism. Understanding Contemporary Terrorism"

The book "The Hybridity of Terrorism. Understanding Contemporary Terrorism"(Logos Verlag, Berlin 2013) is the culmination of long-term research  concerning terrorism which  has been done by the author all over the world. Its aim is not only to show a complex presentation of the whole phenomenon of terrorism but also the presentation of some selected issues in a very sectional and thorough way, issues which have been not widely discussed in the literature of subject.

The starting point is an unfamiliar idea concerning the research of terrorism ( the hybrid conception of terrorism). It implies among others  the simultaneous  consideration of selected very different  components (causes, features, kinds, results, etc.)and the analysis  of relations between them and their consequences. The author pointed out the practical use of the inserted theoretical considerations (e.g. in the security sector) in order to recognize the ways of terrorists' actions, recruitment techniques, terrorism reasons, the prescience of escalation of this kind of danger etc. It has been emphasized that this research which is being done currently all over the world can be recognized in many cases as unsatisfactory. It concentrates too often on the same descriptions, theories or opinions. Apart from that  the research does not include very often such factors and processes directly or indirectly influencing terrorism as: globalization, financial crises, regional integration or natural disasters.

The concept presented in the book has an universal character and can be used not only for discussion about terrorism but also during the analysis of the other social phenomena e.g. nationalism, separatism or fundamentalism. Publication is available among others on the web site amazon.com.
