The international academic conference “European Union – 10 years after its biggest enlargement”
Nearly a decade ago we witnessed one of the most important events in the history of the European integration - the enlargement of the European Union by 10 new Member States, including Poland. It was a remarkable event both from the perspective of our country and region, as well as that of the whole continent, with its historical significance placing it among the most important events in recent history. The upcoming 10th anniversary of the biggest enlargement in the history of the EU is an excellent opportunity to summarise its outcomes. We would like this conference to serve as an opportunity to analyse the results and to review the state of the European integration process itself as well as the challenges that lay ahead for the European Union and its Member States.
The organisers of the conference are: Department of European Studies together with Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of Poznań University of Economics and the Institute for Western Affairs.
The conference will be held on 24-25 April 2014 at Poznań University of Economics.

CONFERENCE FEE is 600PLN/150EUR per person (Earlybird rates apply until 31.01.2014; 800PLN/200EUR full fee between 1.02.2014 and 6.03.2014) or 400PLN/100EUR in case of Ph.D. students (Earlybird registration until 31.01.2014; 800PLN/200EUR between 1.02.2014 and 6.03.2014). The fee includes conference materials, publication and conference dinner.
The conference fee does not include travel and accommodation costs which are to be covered by participants themselves. We advise the participants to make bookings as soon as possible as there are many periodic events such as fairs and exhibitions taking place in Poznań. The organisers recommend those hotels with which preferential rates had been negotiated for conference participants.
