The new issue of  Polish-German bimonthly "WeltTrends" No. 92(September/October) has been published by Welttrends Förderverein and the Institute for Western Affairs.

One of the main topics is the Republic of South Africa. It seems that conflicts, fights and wars are intensifying on the African continent . We can ask a question if the strong regional authority can contribute to solve these problems. South Africa lays claim to have such control. In the current issue of “Welttrends” experts from Africa analyse how far the Republic of South Africa can manage it. In “Weltblick” there are some topics as: the phenomenon of Western Africa piracy, German policy considering Syria or protests in Brazil. In “Interview’ an Egyptian political scientist Hoda Salah is expressing her opinion about the current situation in Egypt after Mursi. The European crisis has been discussed in “Streitplatz’. An economist Hartmut Elsenhans is proposing  how to overcome the economic problems due to the new understanding of the capitalism.

The next topic is the agreement about the normalisation of relations which was signed by Serbs and the inhabitants of Kosowo.

Finally, the new issue includes book reviews and conference reports.
