No. 119 - The effectiveness of shortened working time during the time of economic crisis.
Institute for Western Affairs' Bulletin (No. 119/2012) Prof. Tomasz Budnikowski, 'Macro-economic condition of Germany - Relative stability in a period of uncertainty'
24 out of 34 OECD countries took the advantage of the possibility of a transition to shortened working time during the economic downturn of 2008-2009. Some of them did so for the first time, while others, including Poland, have introduced the new legislation specially for this purpose. The solutions adopted in different countries often show quite significant differences.
