„Institute for Western Affairs' Bulletin" no 45/2010 - dr Natalia Jackowska: German Islam Conference as an example of institutionalization of dialogue between the state and the Muslims in the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees' case study published in 2009, there are from 3,9 to 4,3 million Muslims in the Federal Republic of Germany. The group is not homogenous because of their different origin, cultivated religious traditions or secularism, the degree of embeddedness in the present country of residence, length and kind of residence or background concerning future life perspectives. German Islam Conference, founded in 2006, facilitates a constant forum for dialogue between the state and Muslim communities.
