The President of the Serbian Republic (SR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), Milorad Dodik, supported by the majority of the Bosnian Serbs in his disputes with the High Representatives of the EU, has for many years been using in his political rhetoric arguments concerning the possible secession of the RS, which covers 49% of BH, and joining with Serbia. What may the real possibilities and consequences related to such an event for the hypothetical political disintegration in Bosnia? Which political and economic factors can be considered favorable for the policy of President Dodik in the case of secession? What could constitute a politically beneficial element for the secession of the SR from BH in the context of the current situation in the region, the world and in the potential evolution of Western policy towards this part of Europe?
