Polacy i Niemcy na drodze do partnerskiego sąsiedztwa. Próba bilansu dziesięciolecia 1989-1998

A team of Polish and German researchers set itself the goal of learning about, and studying Polish-German relations in various domains (among others, mutual perception, the defense of the environment, military co-operation, commercial exchange, cooperation and contact along the boundary separating the two countries, tourism), while avoiding getting into "big" politics and into general European considerations. This research concerns the 198 1998 decade and provide answers principally to the question of the degree to which one i justified in talking of a full normalization of Polish-German day-to-day relations. Besides presenting the conditions and causes of the facts described, as well as of their consequences for Polish-German relations, this work also formulates conclusions regardir each particular question, proposes how to eventually streamline it and identifies the possibilities of a constructive solution for any problems which may occur. This work al<, identifies new areas of activity for state institutions, social organizations and local communities.
