We remind you of the IZ Policy Papers by prof. Stanisława Żerki under the title IZ PP nr 22 - Reparations and damage in Polish-German relations (Historical overview)
On September 1, 2022, a volume of the report on Poland's war losses and on war reparations from Germany was released. In connection with this event, we remind you of the IZ Policy Papers by prof. Stanisława Żerki under the title IZ PP nr 22 - Reparations and damage in Polish-German relations (Historical overview)
In total, throughout the entire period of its existence, the Federal Republic of Germany has paid out to Poland only a relatively small amount of about 6 billion zlotys for the victims of the 1939-1945 period94. One can only appreciate how negligible the payments were when taking into account the fact that Poland was the most devastated country during World War II - writes Prof. Stanisław Żerko in the Instytut Zachodni publication IZ Policy Paper.
